With the frost mostly gone in Central Indiana, everyone is itching to get outside earlier in the day each week. Fortunately, farmers market season is starting to ramp up, giving all Northsiders the extra motivation to get going early every Saturday. While there are many different farmers markets throughout the Greater Indianapolis area, the Northside might just have the best of the bunch.

Fishers Famers Market

Ranked the top farmers market in Hamilton County by Indy A-List, the famous Fishers Farmers Market returns for another season beginning May 13th. Running through September 30th, the Fishers Farmers Market is held on Saturdays from mid-morning until early afternoon. In addition to produce, the Fishers Farmers Market is also known for its live music and cooking demonstrations. The Fishers Farmers Market can be found at 6 Municipal Drive, just west of the intersection of I-69 and East 116th Street.

Westfield Farmers Market

Northsiders should consider heading up US-31 and checking out Westfield’s own farmers market, held at 130 Penn Street, just a block north of IN-32. This market is relatively new, having its first season in 2015. This market starts a little later than its counterparts in the city. On Saturdays, between June and September, local farmers and vendors will flock to the Westfield Farmers Market to sell fresh goods like tomatoes, peppers and squash. The market has a slightly later start than other farmers markets nearby. It begins at 10:00am and ends at 2:00pm, meaning visitors have the chance to check out other Northside farmers markets as well.

Whitestown Farmers Market

Still relatively new to the scene, the Whitestown Farmers Market is entering its third season. This market, like many other Northside farmers markets, is held on Saturdays between the hours of 9:00am and 1:00pm. It has been running weekly since May 6th, and it will end its season on September 30th. The market can be found at the Whitestown Municipal Complex, just a few minutes west of Zionsville.

Zionsville Farmers MarketImage title

Starting on May 20th, the Zionsville Farmers Market returns for its 21st season. With over 35 different vendors, the Zionsville Farmers Market is one of the larger weekly events of its type on the Northside. This market’s season runs through September, with sessions held every Saturday between the hours of 8:00am and 11:00am. Just like it recent years, the Zionsville Farmers Market will be held in the lot at the intersection of Main Street and Hawthorne Street in Downtown Zionsville. 2017 vendors include local favorites like My Sugar Pie, Inga’s Popcorn and Patrick’s Kitchen.
