Best Northside Burgers
Some days, you want nothing more than a good burger. Despite what people may tell you, you do not need to make the trek to Downtown Indianapolis to get a great burger. There are plenty of tremendous burger places on the north side of Indianapolis. From Zionsville to Fishers, these are some of the best places to get an excellent burger on the Northside.
An Indiana favorite, Bub’s has locations in Carmel and Zionsville. Bub’s is particularly famous for its “Big Ugly” burger, which weighs a whopping 16 ounces after being cooked. If you manage to complete this behemoth, you get your picture on the wall. While the “Big Ugly” is particularly famous, Bub’s sells smaller burgers as well. Customers can choose ground beef or ground elk patties for their burgers. Elk costs a little extra, but it is generally healthier than beef. The Carmel and Zionsville Bub’s locations are open seven days a week between 11am and 10pm.
Bubba’s 33 has a few locations across the United States, including one off of 96th street in Fishers, and it boasts 11 different burgers on its menu. The Bubba’s “Double Burger” is one of Bubba’s 33’s most popular burgers. It has two of Bubba’s 33’s patties drizzled with Bubba’s 33’s secret Bubba sauce. The Sunshine Burger, another popular burger, uses a patty infused with bacon. During the week, Bubba’s 33’s is open from 4:00pm to midnight. It opens at 11:00am and closes at midnight on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Bru Burger is located near the intersection of Main Street and Old Meridian Street, just east of US-31, in Carmel. Bru’s bravest patrons should try the “Melt Your Face Burger.” Loaded with habanero hot sauce, habanero Havarti and habanero mustard, it is not for the faint of heart. A more unique option, the “The End” burger has a patty dressed with a fried egg, a tomato, caramelized onions, horseradish Havarti and truffle aioli. Bru’s Carmel location is open for lunch and dinner Sunday to Saturday.
The Stacked Pickle has multiple locations on the north side of Indianapolis. Three are located in Carmel, and one is in Fishers. The Stacked Pickle has an astounding 15 burgers on its menu. The “Patty Melt” burger is one of the more unique items on the Stacked Pickle’s menu. Its patty is sandwiched between two pieces of rye bread and is dressed with sautéed onions, Thousand Island dressing and sautéed onions. Vegetarians will love the “Veggie Burger.” It is a black bean burger with chipotle ranch and house-made salsa, all between two wheat buns. The Stacked Pickle’s four Northside locations open at 11am and close after midnight each day of the week.
A Zionsville secret, Carolina Grill is located in the Stonegate neighborhood, just off of IN-334. Burgers at Carolina Grill are highly customizable. Cajun rub, buffalo sauce and blue cheese are some of the more unique burger topping offered at Carolina Grill. Carolina Grill is particularly famous for its buffalo chips, which serve as a great side option to its burgers. It is open Tuesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. It only offers lunch on Sundays, and it is closed on Mondays.
