No matter how you choose to celebrate the cooler weather and fall season in Indianapolis, there is no shortage of events that will keep your family entertained. From trains, to hayrides, to pumpkin patches - there's something for every member of your family to enjoy over this colorful season.

Nickel Plate Express

Just north of Indianapolis, in downtown Atlanta, IN, the whole family can hop on an authentic 1950's train. Offering different excursions that are perfect for all ages and interests. If you've got the youngsters, take them on the Pumpkin Express! Or, if your group is 21+, consider the Uncorked Express or Ales & Rails Express.

The Original & Fabulous GermanFest

Located downtown on the grounds of the historic Athenaeum, this annual event brings out the German in everyone. With activities for grownups and kids, not to mention the famous Wiener Dog Races that happen throughout the day, you are bound to have blast at this festive event.

72nd Annual Historic Irvington Halloween Festival

This long-standing event is well known around Indianapolis for celebrating the best parts of Halloween. Featuring a street fair, coffin race, family movie night, blood drive, five-mile run, and even a seance - this even is something locals and visitors look forward to each year.

Caramel Apple Festival at Tuttle Orchards

The Caramel Apple Festival has grown in recent years, so much so that the orchard added an additional Saturday of fun for all ages. Obviously, you can pick apples if you would prefer, but there are plenty of other activities to check out around the orchard. Take the kiddos in the corn maze or to check out Tractor Town, but definitely don't forget to build your own caramel apples with gourmet toppings.

Indianapolis Halloween ZooBoo

Put on a costume and bring your bag for treats because this event has treat stations around the zoo! Try Pumpkin Bowling or watch the Elephant Pumpkin Smash for some fall fun while visiting the zoo. If you're interested in animal adoption, the Indianapolis Humane Society is on had to talk about the animals available for adoption once ZooBoo ends. Head to the zoo for a memorable fall experience for the whole family.

Indianapolis has plenty to keep you busy during these fall months! Grab the kiddos, the grandparents, and anyone else who wants to have some fun this fall to check out one of these events.
