No matter if you prefer indoor or outdoor fun on the Fourth of July, Indianapolis has you covered! Gather up the family, load up the car, and try out one of these amazing activities for a day (or evening) of family memories.

1) The Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site Independence Day Social

If you want to take in a little history as part of your day, this is the perfect way to celebrate! Head on down to the Old Northside and join the afternoon social! Featuring lawn games, live music, and face painting, there's a little something to entertain everyone! Plus, they'll be selling ice cream and that's crucial for the heat on July 4th!

2) Symphony on the Prairie - Star-Spangled Symphony

This popular concert is great for all ages, so you'll want to purchase tickets early as they do sell quickly! Recognizing all branches of the Armed Forces, this concert always concludes with live cannons and fireworks! Pack up a picnic and enjoy a night at Conner Prairie!

3) Indianapolis Indians vs. Louisville Bats

Take the family down to Victory Field to see a baseball game! Not only will the Indianapolis Indians provide their postgame fireworks, but you'll already be in a prime location for the Downtown Indy Freedom Blast fireworks show! Arrive early at the ballpark and you might even get a few free goodies as well!

4) Party on the Plaza

Come down to the Indianapolis City Market for an evening of food, drink, live music, and prime viewing area for the downtown fireworks! No outside food & beverage allowed, but there's plenty of activity to keep busy until the fireworks begin!

5) CarmelFest

CarmelFest has turned into one of the largest Independence Day celebrations in the state! Offering live entertainment, talent shows, a parade, and an outdoor festival - it's no surprise that it has continued to grow each year. If you're feeling particularly athletic, you can even participate in the Freedom Run! If you don’t live in Carmel, it’s still worth checking out!

If you're going to be in the city for the holiday, Indianapolis is a great place to celebrate the Fourth of July! Stay hydrated, take your sunscreen, and have a great July 4th!
