While Zionsville residents probably find that their children have plenty of opportunities to join sports teams and music groups, there are not a whole of opportunities for art instruction outside of the classroom. Fortunately, a group called Myart recently moved to town and is offering a host of art classes for children throughout the year. While Myart is probably best known for its art classes for kids, there are some opportunities for adults to hone their art skills as well.

Classes and Schedules for Kids

For the 2016-2017 school year, Myart courses began on August 15th. While classes have started, students are welcome to join at any time of the school year. Myart works closely with Zionsville Community Schools and holds classes after normal elementary school hours. Myart goes to a different Zionsville elementary school during the week of the school year and holds classes onsite between the hours of 3:30pm and 4:45pm. On Mondays, Myart is at Boone Meadow. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, it is located at Pleasant View. Stonegate and Union elementary schools, respectively. On Fridays, Myart is held at Eagle. However, not all Myart classes are held immediately after school. A full schedule of classes is available on the Myart website, but, generally, Myart does not hold classes on major holidays like Thanksgiving and Memorial Day.

Tuition for Myart classes is determined by which class a child takes. There are three different lengths of classes offered. One-hour classes are $75.00 per month. 1.5-hour classes are $85.00 per month. Finally, two-hour classes are $105.00 per month. Each family is responsible for paying an annual supply fee of $25.00. If students are registered in the summer months, the fee is just $10.00. Tuition must be paid by the 15th of each month or parents will face a $15.00 late fee. Tuition is nonrefundable. While tuition is paid on a month-to-month basis, students can be withdrawn from Myart at any time. However, tuition must still be paid for the entire rest of the month.

Parties and Camps

While Myart is probably best known for its children’s art classes during the week, it does offer art class parties for both children and adults. Additionally, there are art camps that are available for children at least five year of age throughout the year. Generally, art camps are held during Zionsville Community School’s fall, winter and summer breaks. These art camps are a great place for parents to send their kids during school breaks if they have to work. Art camps fill to capacity quickly, so parents should plan far ahead if they want to get their kid into a Myart camp. Anyone interested in Myart’s camps or parties should email for more information.
