During the holiday months, Santa Claus is at the top of the minds of plenty of children. Fortunately, Indianapolis families can visit Santa at a number of venues across the city. Each Santa experience in Indianapolis is different, and visitors should choose the one that is right for them.

The Indiana State Museum

The Indiana State Museum hosts Santa Claus on various days throughout November and December at a holiday breakfast. There are typically three breakfast times. Guests are seated at 8:00am, 8:30am and 9:00am. The breakfast is buffet-styled, and it includes breakfast staples like applewood smoked bacon, biscuits and gravy, French toast sticks and scrambled eggs. Beverages like milk, orange juice coffee and tea are also offered at the buffet. After breakfast, Indiana State Museum guests can visit Santa at his “home.” Kids can also take a ride on the Santa Claus Express train. Museum admission and a gift bag are included with purchase of the breakfast. The breakfast is very popular with Central Indiana residents, so reservations are required. Reservations can be made by calling (317) 232-1637. The Indiana State Museum is located in Downtown Indianapolis on West Washington Street, and parking is available nearby at the White River State Park Garage.

Clay Terrace Mall

Santa will also make appearances at Clay Terrace Mall off of 146th Street in western Carmel. He will be there every day between November 21st and December 24th, excluding Thanksgiving Day. Generally, guests can visit with Santa between the late morning and the middle of the evening. Visitors should check the Clay Terrace website to get a list of Santa’s hours. Occasionally, Santa’s reindeer will be at Clay Terrace as well. On November 28th, December 5th, December 12th and December 19th, guests can meet Santa’s reindeer between 11am and 2pm. Clay Terrace also offers sleigh rides to visitors. Rides are available between 5:30pm and 7:30pm on November 27th, December 4th, December 10th and December 18th.

Hire a Santa

Indy Santa offers one of the more unique Santa Claus experiences in Indianapolis. Indy Santa is Indianapolis’ premiere professional Santa-for-hire service. Indy Santa has been hired for gift deliveries, large corporate events, engagements, photo opportunities and small family gatherings. Indy Santa is a professional, unionized actor who is trained in singing and storytelling. He has performed at local events and venues including the Circle of Lights Celebration, Christmas Eve Morning on Fox 59 and the Fishers Rotary Club.
