Stuckey Farms is a large, public orchard in western Hamilton County. The orchard has over 4,000 trees producing apples every year. It is one of a few orchards in the Greater Indianapolis area, but it is definitely one of the best and most accessible ones on the north side of Indianapolis.
Stuckey Farms offers 27 different types of apples. The country store also offers honey, jellies, and other gifts. During October, the orchard has 15 acres of pumpkins for picking. While Stuckey’s is known for its apples, it has a number of other produce available. Products like sweet corn, tomatoes, pies and various frozen veggies and fruits are sold in Stuckey’s country store. Stuckey Farms offers some more obscure products including “Blazin’ Habanero Salsa,” “Homestyle Cortland Applesauce” and honey habanero barbecue sauce.
Occasionally, on busier days, Stuckey Farms offers wagon rides through the orchard. This is a nice amenity, considering the large size of the orchard. It can be a long walk from the back of the orchard back to the front. Between the middle of September and the end of October, Stuckey Farms offers its Harvest Festival on the weekends. On weekends during the Harvest Festival, there are new and different activities. Some examples of activities at the Harvest Festival include an apple butter contest, a corn maze and an antique tractor show. The orchard is open for small school groups as well. Groups should contact Stuckey Farms to arrange a visit.
Stuckey Farms hires for a number of different positions on its orchard. Applicants must be at least 20 years old, and they must possess a valid driver’s license. Applicants should check the Stuckey Farms website before the start of July to see what positions are needed for the summer and fall months.
Location and Hours
Stuckey Farms is open every day between July and Thanksgiving. It is open between 9:00am and 6:00pm Monday through Friday. On Saturday, it opens at 9:00am, but it closes an hour earlier at 5:00pm. It is about 20 minutes north of Zionsville and 10 minutes northwest of Westfield. It can be fairly difficult to find, considering there are no real noticeable landmarks, but it is very easy to locate with a GPS system.
