Northsiders who have lived in the Greater Indianapolis area for at least a couple of decades undoubtedly remember Jillian’s, an entertainment and dining facility that was located on South Meridian Street near its intersection with Georgia Street. While Jillian’s closure was certainly disappointing, a new, similar restaurant has opened in nearly the same location in Downtown Indianapolis. It is called the Punch Bowl Social, and it is a tremendous restaurant and entertainment facility that demands attention from the Greater Indianapolis community.

The Punch Bowl Social has breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner menus for guests. Breakfast is served during the week until 3:00pm. The breakfast menu features delicious entrees like Mushroom Biscuit N’ Gravy and Monkey Bread French Toast. The lunch and dinner menu has salads, sandwiches, burgers and other typical bar food items. The Punch Bowl Social also has an extensive list of unusual beer and wines.

While the Punch Bowl Social certainly has wonderful food and drink, its large selection of in-house activities really separates it from the rest of the pack. For one, there are multiple bowling alleys spread throughout the restaurant. Additionally, guests can participate in karaoke. Table games like foosball, pool and ping-pong are also popular with Punch Bowl Social guests.

Special Events and Space Reservation

While the Punch Bowl Social is generally open to everyone, space can be reserved for parties, whether they are corporate holiday parties, birthday parties or something in between. Anyone interested in renting out space at the Indianapolis Punch Bowl Social location should contact a representative through its website. Reservations for normal dining accommodations can be easily made on the Punch Bowl Social website. Guests are redirected to Open Table and are required to provide the size of the party and the date and the hour for the reservation.

Location and Hours

Punch Bowl Social is located at 120 South Meridian Street in Downtown Indianapolis. This is just south of Monument Circle. During the week, it opens at 11:00am. On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, it is open until 2:00am. On Fridays, the Punch Bowl Social is open an extra hour into the night. On Saturdays, it is open between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00am. On Sundays, it again opens at 9:00am, but it closes at 2:00am. During certain holidays, the Punch Bowl Social may have reduced hours. It may also be closed entirely. Northsiders interested in heading Downtown to the Punch Bowl Social should consider calling a representative at 317-249-8613 to get full hours during a holiday season.
