October seems to be flying by in 2016. In fact, Halloween is right around the corner. Northside residents should make sure they are completely prepared for Halloween with it sneaking up. Temperatures in Central Indiana will fall dramatically by Halloween. Also, while trick-or-treating is generally the same in all of the Northside’s communities, residents should make sure they know official trick-or-treating hours.

Typically, by the end of the month of October, temperatures in Central Indiana have plummeted. On the Northside, the average high temperature for October 31st is around 58°F. Northsiders should keep in mind that trick-or-treating generally occurs during the evening hours after the sun has set. For this reason, temperatures are, on average, well below 58°F during trick-or-treating. In fact, nighttime temperatures on Halloween dip all the way to 37°F on average, although the temperature typically does not drop this low until well after treat-or-treating hours. Fortunately, October is generally one of the driest month of fall. Still, parents should monitor the local weather and make sure their children are dressed appropriately.

Trick-Or-Treat Hours

Trick-or-treat hours vary throughout the towns and cities on the north side of Indianapolis. Zionsville starts its trick-or-treating at 5:30pm. By 8:00pm, trick-or-treating in Zionsville ends. Trick-or-treating in The City of Westfield, on the other hand, starts a little earlier than it does in Zionsville. It starts at 5:00pm and runs until 8:00pm. Carmel, like Zionsville and Westfield, also has designated trick-or-treating hours. Their trick-or-treating starts at 5:00pm. Trick-or-treating in Carmel is supposed to end at 8:00pm. Fishers has trick-or-treating between 6:00pm and 8:00pm. Finally, Noblesville has specified trick-or-treating hours as well. Their hours start at 5:30pm. Noblesville’s trick-or-treating hours end a little later than hours for other Northside communities. In fact, hours end an entire half hour later at 8:30pm. Public safety officials will make additional patrols on the night of Halloween in Noblesville. This is done to provide a little extra security to make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time trick-or-treating in Noblesville. Noblesville motorists are also asked to use extra caution on Halloween night.

This event is held in the Exposition Hall and is attended by many local businesses and organizations. Admission to this great event is completely free of charge. However, all children 12 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult. Here, trick-or-treating starts at 5:00pm and ends at 7:00pm.
