You've waited for weeks to spend all day outside with the kids, but then rain shows up! Indiana weather is NEVER predictable - one day it's sunny, then the next day you need a coat because it's 20 degrees cooler. All over town, there are different places to help keep the kids entertained on a rainy day! There's definitely a little something for kids of all ages. Check out some of the options below if you're ready to get the kids out of the house to play!

The Learning Curve at Central Library

Located downtown at the Central Library, there's plenty of free fun to be had with just a library card. The Learning Curve is home to children's books, Legos, computers, dry erase walls, and a small theatre area. Experience virtual field trips and games at the library! Check website for hours and more scheduled programming.

The Treehouse Community

On Tuesday & Thursdays, grab the kids and head over to the indoor playground in Plainfield Christian Church's Children’s Center! This children's center is suitable for ages 0-12, so you can take the whole brood! Admission is free, plus free coffee for the grownups!

Kid City at Greenwood Community Center

This venue does require membership, but they have options for both Greenwood residents and non-residents! Check out two-stories of year-round fun for the kids! STEAM-inspired with a Luckey Climber and an outdoor immersive play experience.

Zip City Indianapolis

With an indoor zip line, ropes course, climbing wall, trampolines, and more - the family will definitely burn some energy instead of being cooped up in the house all day! There's even a Toddler Town for the tiniest in your group. Unlimited pass options available so that you can try everything within a certain amount of time. There's even a concession room so you can eat while you're there, or the adults can check out The Sky Lounge - a new full-service bar area!

The Urban Chalkboard

Located in Carmel, the learning studios and play cafe are great options for the kiddos to enjoy. With daily drop-in play options or scheduled programming, there's always something new to do! Scheduled programming includes music, reading enrichment, interactive play, and sometimes yoga. Waivers are required and reservations are suggested.

Don't let a dreary day keep you stuck at home when there are so many options close by. Grab the kids, load up the car, and enjoy a day of fun on any side of town!
